Overview of Intel Knights Landing Processors

The Knights Landing is the 2^nd generation of Intel Xeon Phi product. This new processor provides significant enhancement in performance compared to the previous generation. Among the new features of this self-booting CPU, we can name the binary compatibility with Xeon, power efficiency of the cores, new 512-bit vector instruction set, on-package high-bandwidth memory and integrated fabric. For this presentation, we will overview the main hardware characteristics of Knights Landing processors and their impact on the way we write code.
